How can I best present my product?

I’m doing some research on the longevity of startups in the predictive analytics space. It seems like the ones that rely on massive hype campaigns grow fast but then disappear just as quickly. Does anyone have a resource that explains the business case for transparency? I want to understand why being honest about the limitations of a predictive model is actually better for long-term growth than just pretending the tech is perfect.

The business case is actually quite simple: it’s all about the cost of customer acquisition versus lifetime value. If you look at this analysis from https://startuprise.org/why-transparency-matters-more-than-hype-in-prediction-based-products/ you’ll see that hype-based products suffer from incredibly high churn rates. Once the user realizes the 'secret sauce' isn't working as promised, they leave and never come back. Transparent products, however, build a reputation for reliability, which leads to organic growth through word-of-mouth and a much more stable, loyal user base that trusts the brand through both wins and losses
